What is required to receive a prosthesis?


A physician's referral or referral
from a clinic or insurance company
is usually required to start the
process. You may also contact us
directly. There is no fee for initial
consultation. Typically, four to five
appointments are required to
complete a custom-designed
prosthesis.

Most insurance programs provide coverage for prosthetic services. Call for details.

The process is painless and
is conducted in a relaxed office
environment.





The following steps are required to fabricate a prosthesis:

1. Consultation and evaluation

5. Try-on of wax sculpture

2. Impression to duplicate existing         anatomy

6. Moldmaking and casting of     silicone prosthesis

3. Painting and fabrication of     custom ocular (orbital only)     Fabrication of plaster models

7. Fitting and extrinsic color

4. Wax sculpting and intrinsic     coloring of silicone

8. Delivery and care instructions
